Reality check: the good, the bad and the orange

Is it me, or is everyone on Dancing With the Stars getting more and more orange? Chuck Wicks, the country singer guy, is starting to look like an Oompa Loompa. For real. I couldn’t even look at him when the judges were reviewing his relatively mediocre performance last night. I don’t know if it was an overuse of makeup or if he just doesn’t know when to get his butt out of the tanning bed. Whatever it is, make it stop.

Tonight on DWTS, there will be a very dramatic double elimination. Super dramatic. Anabolic drama, people. For once, I am excited about this show. Two more teams will get the boot. Hallelujah! I think Steve-O and Holly Madison should hit the road. I can’t take another minute of that Barbie doll trying to dance and that Jackass wishing he could. It’s not just painful, it’s infuriating at this point. Begging you good people to make it stop. Seriously. Begging you.

Here’s who I liked:

Lil Kim — I was surprised by how elegant Kim was during her Tango with Derek Hough. She earned the first 10 of the season and she looked incredible doing it. My only request is that she lay off the botox… she’s starting to look permanently surprised. Knock it off, Kim!

Melissa Rycroft — She’s clearly the one to beat. There really isn’t much to say other than she almost seems overqualified to compete against this group. She looks great and she dances her ass off. Eat your heart out Mesnick.

For once Steve Wozniak didn’t make me want to crawl out of my skin. I’m embarrassed to say this guy is growing on me. The Woz, as he is affectionately referred to, is the co-founder of Apple. He’s the dude that was engaged to that other dude Kathy Griffin. He can’t dance to save his life but he really is a nice guy. At first his positivity made me want to smack him, but now I find it somewhat endearing. I must be losing my edge.

Highlight of the night: Megan Mullally was in the audience, no doubt to plug her new show, but who cares. I love her. In the Motherhood is on Thursdays, at 8pm on ABC. You’re welcome, Megan.

Reality Check appears every Thursday, sometimes Tuesday and Wednesday, and there’s always a chance for some action on Monday… and Friday.
