I am digging Weeds, Tony’s Baltimore Grill, and my Flip video camera
Thanks to Netflix being available on Wii now, I have been checking out shows and movies I have passed over or never given the chance. One such show is Weeds. It’s about this attractive widow who sells pot to make ends meet — she would have been the woman of dreams to my roomate in my freshman year of college. I watched one episode the other night, then two, then seven episodes and a bag of Fritos later, I was passed out asleep on the couch. To me, this is the way to get into a show. I can’t stand watching it week by week — I am doing that now with How To Make It In America, and in true HBO fashion, it’s only a half hour long and the first season is something like 6 episodes. My two-year-old will be driving by the time that and Eastbound and Down have a second season. Back to Weeds — I am loving the fact there there are 4 more seasons left for me to watch. Better buy more Fritos!
This past week my girlfriend and I decided to head down to the Jersey shore for a day. My parents own a place in Margate, New Jersey and since they (and my girlfriend) are all on break, we decided to pretend it was summer and hang out down the shore. No trip down is possible for me and Cailin unless we hit up Tony’s Baltimore Grill in Atlantic City — home to quite possibly the best pizza in the world. The place is great — dirt cheap, old school, cranky waitresses, and sharing knowing glances with other patrons that you know about this place. I will take it over any casino restaurant any day of the week. And the bar is open 24 hours a day — but they stop making pies from 5am to 10am. I can’t tell you how many times I ordered a pizza at 4:55 am in that place!
I am totally digging my new Flip Video. It’s the ultra compact camcorder that I am going to be able to take everywhere. I just got it Wednesday and charged it last night. I am itching to get some good footage. So now, when I see two bums fighting on a street in Atlantic City and then hugging a minute later, I can capture that moment. Or like yesterday, when I saw this bad ass dog with a pair of sunglasses on. Now people will believe my crazy stories because I will have video proof! This is going to be great!
However, this week has been killing me with my seasonal allergies. Right now, you could do lines of pollen off my car’s hood. I’m itchin’, scratchin’, weezin’, coughin’, sniffin’, and sufferin’! I love this time of year, but it’s killin’ me!

As a deployed soldier here in Africa, watching tv shows on disc is amazing. I have watched 5 seasons of Weeds, 4 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, all 3 seasons of Arrested Development, the first 2 seasons of The Wire and all 3 seasons of Dexter. It’s a great way to watch a show…espescially when on deployment.
As a side note, Weeds gets crazy and amazing…just like Aerosmith.
