The strange world of Dr. Anthrax
If you would like to learn more about the strange little man who, according to the FBI, frightened a nation with deadly mailings of anthrax, thesmokinggun.com has published the FBI’s first batch of released documents .
The FBI “Amerithrax” investigation has concluded that Bruce Ivins, a government scientist who committed suicide in July of 2008, was the man who mailed the deadly anthrax to newspaper editors, politicians and others, causing death, severe illness and gripping fear in a nation already frightened by the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks.
As one can see from the FBI’s documents, Ivins, a bondage and sorority-obsessed, cross-dressing Yankee hater, was an odd man that could have been invented by thriller writers like Ian Fleming and Thomas Harris.
Although some questions remain about the FBI’s investigation, it appears that the case is closed.
