“Racist judge is not a racist,” attests toilet

A couple in Louisiana was refused a marriage license by a justice of the peace due to the fact that they were an interracial couple. My favorite part of this story is this quote:

“I’m not a racist. I just don’t believe in mixing the races that way,” Bardwell told the Associated Press on Thursday. “I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home, I marry them, they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else.”

They use your bathroom? Wow. You’re right, Judge Bardwell. I believe you completely. You’re not a racist. I am sure your “piles and piles of black friends” will come right out to support you.

According to CNN, the couple has gone to the NAACP in an effort to have the judge disciplined in some way. Here’s hoping an example is made of him.

I am nearly forty-one years old, and people continue to amaze me every day.

  1. Now that’s a good headline.

  2. Has anyone considered that Bardwell may suffer from a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder rather than racism? Perhaps he needs to match black with black and white with white to avoid crippling bouts of anxiety.
