Lauren likes TV: The Hills are alive with the sound of awful

Last Week’s Roundup

The Hills (Monday, MTV, 10PM) — “Fun question”… who loathes The Hills? I know we were all on the edge of our seats to watch the Lauren and Heidi reconciliation. Psych. But Brody and Spencer did! I bet Brody really regrets Bromance now. I’m not sure who I hate more, Heidi, because she’s a pathetic loser, Audrina, because she’s only half alive, or their bleached teeth. They’re blinding, like Spencer’s flesh-colored beard. Thankfully, that’s gone away (for now). However, I have to give Spencer props for popping that Cameron kid. I didn’t know he had it in him. He’s still a lying, manipulative snake… come to think of it, I’m pretty sure he’s my favorite.

Others Noteworthy

Lost — Ben lives. What a surprise. At least he did not get to seek revenge on Charles Widmore at Penny’s expense, but instead, got his ass handed to him by Desmond (sorry, brotha!). Also, the smoke monster spared him his life, but will he listen to the orders of his dead daughter and follow the lead of John Locke? I’m thinking… no.

Harper’s Island — I’m in. It was like I Know What You Did Last Summer without Jennifer Love Hugetits there to ruin it. Right now, my money’s on Sully as the killer. After all, he was psycho “Derek” on One Tree Hill.

Friday Night Lights — The season finale was wonderful as expected, but some questions were left unanswered. Is Matt Saracen going to college in Chicago or is he sacrificing the opportunity of a lifetime to pay back a lifetime of debt to his beloved Grandma? Will Coach Taylor accept the downgraded head-coach job at Eastern Dillon? Nine whole months until we find out these answers (unless you have DirecTV, of course). The unlikely hero of this episode was Billy Riggins, for somehow not buying into Tim’s attempt to ditch college for the beer-drinking, car-fixing, auto repair shop career path, rather convincing him to go to college and be better than their parents had ever been to them and their family. Nice job, Billy, oh and congrats on your marriage to Mindy… she’s very special. And you’re gonna be a daddy to boot. What a lucky kid.

Laura Leighton will reprise her role as Sydney Andrews on the new Melrose Place, premiering this fall on The CW.

Lowlights

Sydney Andrews was killed in season 5 of the original Melrose Place.

90210 — The Erin Silver saga came to its predictable conclusion. The best part of that episode was “Sesame Balls”.

Somewhere In The Middle

Parks and Recreation — I didn’t really know what to make of this. It wasn’t great, but it had some funny moments. Though, it was good to see Chris Pratt back in action. I don’t know if this is the next, The Office. What did you think?

What To Watch, week of 4/13

Tuesday — 90210. Donna Martin returns. Similarly to her role in the 90’s, not sure what her purpose is this time around either. I wonder if time was on her side or did she tragically peak at West Bev?

Friday — Prison Break. It’s back and finally coming to an series end. I can’t remember if they’re in or out of prison, what country they’re in, or if that evil bitch, Gretchen, is with them or not. What I do know is that T-bag is still. alive.
