I dream I am trying to park near a viewing. There are no parking spaces, so I go instead to the simulcast at the local racino. As I watch on video the throngs of people walking by the casket, I sob uncontrollably. I start to play a slot machine, but an attendant removes my chair. I say “If you remove the chair, I’ll remove my money.” He removes the chair anyway. I cash out, but instead of my money a bunch of oddly shaped cookies pours out. I look for a place to cash in my cookies and I wind up in the kiddie area where a family sings songs from Evita in four part harmony.

I dream I get a job in an architecture/manufacturing firm, but I don’t know what I’m doing. It is a workshop environment with all kinds of odd equipment including a 3D printer. Furthermore, I am trying to bake kamish bread, which is a kind of Jewish biscotti. I wonder if the 3D printer could help me form my loaves more efficiently.

I dream I am working at the Philadelphia Film Festival and I am taking care of a fragmented family. Whatever I do for them is not good enough, but since I am at the festival and I am attending a cookie reception, I get an idea. Instead of being an ordinary magician I would be “The Cookie Man.” I would do magic tricks and dispense cookies from a cookie cart. As I slice a loaf cookie for their consumption, my colleagues tell me that my cookie man idea is a good one.
“Fred’s Dreams” appears every Wednesday.
