Free the Navy SEAL 3
Following up on my earier post about the court martial of three Navy SEALs who are accused of roughing up a known, brutal terrorist in Iraq, I’m pleased to report that there are a good number of people who are also outraged over the criminal charges against the SEALs.
One outraged American is Bill Bruhmuller, a retired Navy SEAL Master Chief Petty Officer.
Master Chief Bruhmuller has written a piece for Human Events on the charges against the SEALs. He is correct, I believe, in stating that if the SEALs did in fact slap, punch or elbow the terrorist, their chief should have handled their misbehavior.
Criminal charges were brought against the SEALs, in my view, due to the politically correct atmosphere in the military, which is encouraged by the Obama administration.
As a young sailor during the Vietnam War, I recall many a chief who modified our behavior with a simple look, or a string of curses, followed up with a “shit-detail” work assignment as punishment. Today, that chief, like the SEALs, would be brought up on charges.
Terrorists are instructed to claim prisoner abuse if captured, as the terrorist leaders are well aware of the Obama administration’s timid, knee-jerk, overly-sensative, politically correct response to these false claims.
