Lauren likes TV: Chelsea saw Jennifer ‘Lately’
Chelsea Lately (Weeknights, 11PM, E!) — I don’t know how she did it, but my “I’d-disregard-all-of-my-other-friends-forever-to-actually-be-her-friend” friend Jennifer Aniston appeared on my other “I’d-disregard-my-friend-Jackie-forever-to-actually-be-her-friend” friend Chelsea Handler’s late night show, Chelsea Lately. This meeting of female greatness was the best thing to happen to me since the remote control was invented… and was quite a feat for Chelsea. I don’t know if you watch Chelsea Lately, but her guests are generally B/C celebrities. Just recently, her guests included Aaron Carter, Floyd Mayweather, and Kristin Cavallari. Then Jennifer Aniston. Hmm, who doesn’t belong? As Chelsea would say it, who… did we kill to get her? Regardless, Jenny was there, looking stellar as usual, and they covered a range of topics in the short 6 minute interview including the paps, dogs, New Jersey, and Jennifer’s (and obviously Chelsea’s) drink of choice… vodka. God, I worship her. She even gave a shout out to Chuy. What… a cool chick. I wish with all my might we could be friends. Sigh, I guess Jackie will have to do for now. You can watch… over and over and over again… here.
Others Noteworthy
One Tree Hill — How is OTH still good? And how is Jamie 7? Dan has a TV show? This remains one of my favorite shows… still… even in it’s 7th season. It’s not OMG amazing, but it’s something I look forward to sit down to watch every week. I am feeling Nathan and Haley’s new mansion. I like the new cast members and didn’t really miss Lucas and Peyton at all. And Brooke and Julian are my new favorite couple. Now who do you think drew the ‘Marry Me’ in the sand? My money is on Brooke.
Glee — The only person who loves Kurt more than me is Mercedes. Good job breaking the obvious and aniticipated storyline so quickly and whole-heartedly.
Parks and Recreation — Leslie Knope is freakin’ hysterical. It took all of 3 seconds before I was reminded of that with her ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’ rap. Amy Poehler is a genius.
The Office — This episode uncharacteristically shocking! Stanley is having an affair?!
Somewhere In The Middle
90210 — It’s official. Liam got hot. He was always cute, but now he’s hot. The episode was OK and the season has been better than I thought it would be so far, but I was severely disappointed by the wrath of the sext message. That was it? A couple of oohs and aahs in the hallway? I thought it was going to be the next straight-to-DVD-sex-tape with a title like, “Annie: It’s a Hard-Cock Life”. That was so lame.
Community — I had higher expectations for this. I don’t even remember laughing. Strike one.
Lowlights
Melrose Place — This show took a turn for the absolute worst this week. I don’t even think it’s going to be around long enough for me to cut it. Keep moving people, there’s nothing to see here.
After 72 years on the air, Guiding Light aired it’s final show on Friday.
What to Watch, Week of 9/21
Modern Family — I wasn’t even thinking of watching this but then I downloaded the preview from iTunes and it was immediately on The Schedge. Paired with Cougar Town at 9:30 on Wednesday, Glee just may have some competition.
Cougar Town — Courteney Cox + Busy Philipps = Happy Lauren LaBumbard
FlashForward — This originally wasn’t on The Schedge. It looked appealing to me at the upfronts, but then I thought, “another show with a supernatural twist?” I got through about 2 episodes of Heroes before I dropped it and the fact that I’m still watching Lost is a hot miracle. But the trailers look great. And I like the actress Peyton List, who plays Jane in Mad Men (she was also in the cancelled, Big Shots, which apparently only I watched and loved). I’ll give it a go, but I’m not 100% onboard yet.
Grey’s Anatomy — After the shocking finale last season, you must tune in to see George’s funeral.
Desperate Housewives — Mike gets married! The producer’s have tried to trick us by filming both Susan and Katherine in wedding dresses… but let’s be honest, if it isn’t Susan that would be just plain stupid.
Brothers & Sisters — While last season’s finale wasn’t mind-blowing, how can you not tune in for the family debauchery known as the Walkers. Plus Kitty and Robert’s marriage is vodka on the rocks.
