Lauren likes TV: 30 Rocks!
30 Rock (Thursday, NBC, 9:30PM) — I can’t comment on Thursday’s episode of 30 Rock. That’s because I didn’t watch it. I am ashamed to say I just starting watching 30 Rock (Netflixed season 1). When 30 Rock premiered, there was another, supposed-to-be similar show about sketch comedy also premiering called Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip that I stupidly chose over 30 Rock (a chance to see Matthew Perry on my TV every week? I took it). Not to say Studio 60 wasn’t awesome, because it was. But it died a slow death and is now in cancellation heaven (BTW, these two shows are so completely different, I don’t know why they were ever compared to each other to begin with). So now I’ve HandBraked and loaded most of season 1 on to my iPhone and I just can’t stop… watching, laughing, crying from laughing… as I walk down the street, ride the subway, take the elevator up to my office or apartment, eat… you get the point. As a previous hater of Alec Baldwin (and all the other Baldwins), I completely changed my mind after episode 1 (and I now understand and appreciate all of the awards he’s won). Though I was never a fan of Tracy Morgan (no I’m not that familiar with his work, yes I judged him), he’s been nothing short of awesome thus far. And Tina Fey is actually funnier than expected, if that’s even possible (I heart Liz Lemon like I hearted Monica Geller). Not to mention the entire ensemble cast that fits the brilliant writing in this series. And it takes place right in my backyard. It makes me wonder, what the hell has taken me so long to get onboard? And the worst part is that only one of my friends has raved about this show to me (thank you, Emma). I was told I should really look forward to the Oprah episode. At the rate I’m going I should be caught up quickly (I know I can jump into Thursdays now, but that’s not how I roll)… I have a business trip planned to Birmingham, AL and I couldn’t be more excited.
Other’s Noteworthy
Gossip Girl — OMFG, Serena van der Woodsen is getting pa-layed and we don’t know why. We also witnessed the softer side of Chuck that scarcely appears as he finally apologized to Little J for trying to… well… rape her in the series premiere way back, like, last year.
One Tree Hill — There was a high degree of cuteness in this episode. Mouth and Milli lay in bed together via webcam, Sam declares she’s Jack’s girlfriend unbeknownst to Jack, and little Jamie steals the show again with his adorable wit and personality. Gotta love that kid.
Grey’s Anatomy — Though this was a rather sad episode with the little girl dying and Callie’s father cutting her off for going lesbo, it was awesome when Izzie faked flatlining to freak out Cristina. It was also pretty damn funny when Meredith requested a wedding dress that didn’t make noise when it moved or stand up by itself.
The following ABC shows were renewed for fall: Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and Brothers & Sisters
Lowlights
Sadly, on Saturday, the world of film, theater, and television lost Bea Arthur to cancer. The Emmy Award winning actress of Maude and The Golden Girls will be greatly missed. She is survived by roommates Blanche Devereaux and Rose Nylund. Thank you for being a friend, Bea.
What to Watch, Week of 4/27
Private Practice — It’s the season finale and Amanda Forman’s (Meghan from Felicity) creepy character Katie is going after Violet and her unborn child, thinking it’s actually her child which Violet stole from her. And we thought Meghan’s box was weird.
Brothers & Sisters — Kitty’s emotional affair is moving towards pure adultery, and Ryan is going Team Holly to take Ojai Foods and the Walkers down. Though she screwed Tommy, I think Rebecca’s loyalties may lie with Team Walker.

Stellar recap! 30 Rock is the funniest show on television, hands down. You must hurry and catch up! I was a huge fan of Studio 60 – love me some Matt Perry. Izzie faking flat lines was hilarious and as for Meghans Box – LOL – in the words of the great Liz Lemon, “I want to go to there.”

Rozek — I don’t watch 30 Rock but, since I’ve committed to blog stalking you, I still decided to read the post. The only thing I took from this was the Meghan’s box reference. Solid. Just solid.
