Parenthood (Tuesday, NBC, 10PM) — I got to watch the pilot episode of Parenthood (thanks to the free episode on iTunes, a plastic cup of wine and a train ride to see my mother) and I gotta say, I loved it. There was nothing to not love. It was funny, heartwarming and downright wonderful.

Brothers & Sisters (Sunday, ABC, 10PM) — I consistently neglect one of my favorite shows week after week and it’s simply because I’m 32 years old and like to be in bed by 10 on a school night, especially on Sunday. With Brothers & Sisters airing on Sunday at 10PM, I never watch it live… and considering this column posts on Monday at 2:00, I don’t get to write about it. So this week I’ve decided to honor B&S, stay up late, watch it and discuss. [Read more →]

Lost (Tuesday, ABC, 9PM) — Who is the man in black? I don’t even remember the man in black (thank goodness for that recap hour). It seems as if the devilish man in black has the ability to take the form of dead bodies… so I guess Locke really is dead… and it wasn’t really Jack’s father following him around on the island that whole time (or was it?). Oh and the man in black is also the smoke monster.

Pawn Stars/American Pickers (Monday, History Channel) – While the rest of America was tuning in to the NBC late-night television Conan/Leno debacle, in addition to watching the funniest late night host of them all, Chelsea Handler, I was watching my other late-night guilty pleasures… on the History channel. Uh huh, you heard me correctly. It all started one night with Pawn Stars. How I came across it, I do not know… but thank goodness I did because I love it. [Read more →]

Cougar Town (Wednesday, 9:30PM, ABC) — I was a little behind on one of my favorite new shows of the season… hell, one of my favorite shows on TV, Cougar Town, and I am finally all caught up. That show cracks. me. up. Just when I thought there was no way Courteney Cox could be funnier than she was as Monica Geller, she is as funny, if not funnier, as Jules Cobb. I don’t have Showtime so I do not watch United States of Tara (though I have seen it) and Toni Collette is excellent, but I think Courteney got robbed at the Globes. Especially at an awards show where underdogs and comeback kids rule the envelopes. [Read more →]

24 (Monday, 9PM, FOX) — Tick… tick… tick… tick… “The following takes place between 4pm and 5pm.” Ahh, it was so good to hear those words. Jack Bauer, unwillingly, was back in action rather quickly this season and thank goodness for that. He tried, unsuccessfully, to not be involved with CTU affairs but it didn’t happen and before we knew it, he was toting around a terrorist, shooting locks off doors with his last bullet, and saving the lives of others while putting his own at risk… basically, he was just being Jack. It was so very Jack of him to slice that fire ax into the chest of that bad guy. [Read more →]

The holidays are over. We’re 11 days into frigid January. Spring is 68 days away. What do we have to look forward to? TV winter premieres, that’s what (hey, it’s something). Now the real truth is that we’re going to have to wait many months for some of our faves to come back (Glee for instance, returns in April), but some have already returned (Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Modern Family, Cougar Town), there are some new goodies on their way now and some of our go-tos return this week. Here’s what to watch for this winter season: [Read more →]

The Sing-Off (Monday, 8PM, NBC) — NBC has decided to finally get caught up in musically-talented reality TV shows (The Singing Bee doesn’t count) and all I can say is Merry Christmas to me. Take American Idol, combine it with Glee and sprinkle in a little America’s Next Dance Crew and you’ve got The Sing-Off… a week long extravaganza which begins on Monday in a 2-hour premiere.

“But that’s too strong cuz it is my favorite holiday.” It’s about that time… your turkey leftovers should be gone (and if they’re not, please throw them away), black friday and cyber monday are behind us, the big Christmas tree is lit at Rockefeller Center, and “Last Christmas” by Wham! is playing at every Gap across America. It’s official, the holidays are here. [Read more →]

The American Music Awards (Sunday, 8PM, ABC) – I am a big fan of music award shows. Grammy’s, VMA’s… hell I’ll even watch the CMA’s. Last night were the American Music Awards so obviously I watched. I didn’t get around to many shows this week so I am dedicating this week’s column to the awards show. It was clearly a night for the ladies. My commentary below: [Read more →]

Glee, Wednesday 9PM, FOX — Glee returned this week and has once again managed to hit the high notes (well almost). It was nice to see Artie as the center story line this week as they focused on the obstacles of his disability and his sheepish romance with Tina (that faker… she never did do a good stutter). His unconventional rendition of “Dancing With Myself” was sweet and one of my favorite numbers of the year.

So You Think You Can Dance (Tuesday, 8PM, FOX) — I was definitely not ready for another season of SYTYCD. The hours you have to put in to this reality dance competition makes it the perfect summer series, so having it on in the fall made me feel anxious and overwhelmed. With the abundance of fall television, I knew I wasn’t tuning in until at least Vegas week. I never even made it to Vegas which put me at a distinct disadvantage… I knew no one in the top 20. I thought for sure that this season was not in the cards for me… and then they did something brilliant. [Read more →]

I am so far behind on TV it’s not even funny. Between my vacation (holla to my fellow PV Zoo Party-goers), the baseball playoffs, and my day job, I’m a good 2 weeks behind. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I desperately need some rerun weeks in order for me to catch up. So that being said, this week I can’t tell you highlights, lowlights, and what to watch next week (except for Yankee baseball, of course). So what do I talk about today? [Read more →]

The Office (Thursday, 9PM, ABC) — My husband told me to get a life last night after I yelled at him for interrupting the finale scene of The Office wedding (he has a knack for doing that… flashback to Grey’s Anatomy season 2 finale, when Izzie killed Denny, Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars” was playing and all he could say over and over again was, “She quit? Wait, she quit? Honey, did she quit?” I almost left him on the spot). And he deserved to be yelled at again. We all anticipated Jim and Pam’s wedding, and quite frankly my expectations were low, but the hour-long extravaganza was one of the best episodes written in a long time. To watch the events unfold leading up to the ceremony was brilliant… we’ve seen enough wedding reception mishaps. Here were the highlights for me, and every character contributed: [Read more →]

Modern Family & Cougar Town (Wednesday, ABC, 9-10PM) — Sorry I left you hangin’ last week. Life happens. But I’m back this week and I made sure I watched ABC’s new comedies, Modern Family and Cougar Town… again. ABC, typically known for awesomely dramatic hourly sagas, has gotten funny. [Read more →]

Chelsea Lately (Weeknights, 11PM, E!) — I don’t know how she did it, but my “I’d-disregard-all-of-my-other-friends-forever-to-actually-be-her-friend” friend Jennifer Aniston appeared on my other ”I’d-disregard-my-friend-Jackie-forever-to-actually-be-her-friend” friend Chelsea Handler’s late night show, Chelsea Lately. This meeting of female greatness was the best thing to happen to me since the remote control was invented… and was quite a feat for Chelsea. [Read more →]

Glee (Wednesday, FOX, 9PM) — Since the pilot in the spring, Glee has been on my mind. This was the show I couldn’t wait for this fall and it was certainly worth the wait. We were left with the New Directions version of ‘Don’t Stop Believin” in our heads all summer and I was ready for a change. During a commercial break Rosanna Scotto (FOX 5 NY news anchor) mentioned an interview with Salt-N-Pepa following that nights episode of Glee. [Read more →]

I can feel it. Pro, college, and fantasy football is alive, the stench of the smoldering New York City streets is fading, and teachers have to actually go to work like the rest of us (suckas). That’s right, fall is just ’round the corner and you know what comes with that… fall TV, THE highlight of my favorite season. We did it. We made it through another summer of ridiculous reality television and feelings of obligation to do something after work because it’s “summer.” I, for one, am done with all of that and am ready to plop my ass in front of the television, order a pizza and wait for all the television goodness to grace us with its presence. Here’s what’s on my schedule for week 1 of the TV season: [Read more →]

When I first heard about the new Melrose Place… wait, let me rewind back a year. When I first heard about the new 90210 last year, I partly rolled my eyes and partly got very excited. Finding out that The CW was recreating the best show ever wasn’t the best news ever, but then I thought about the potential of a new OC-ish show entering my life with the possibility of cameos from the 90’s original cast and I began to change my mind. Excitement grew… and then the show started. [Read more →]

Chima is a big, f*ckin’ brat. How many people would kill to be on Big Brother? I’m pretty sure I would. Jeff used his wizard power and overturned Chima’s HOH nominations so she decided to act like a spoiled, bratty sore loser and break all of the Big Bro rules. Awww, your power was taken away, boo hoo. And can we discuss how she looks exactly like a Bratz doll? [Read more →]

I’ve received a few messages about my lack of posts this summer and all I have to say is… I’m sorry! I’ve been summer busy and with the lack of scripted television and abundance of reality television, if you don’t watch the episode and write about it the night it airs, you fall behind. I was able to keep up with The Bachelorette because let’s be honest, it aired on Monday and I’m not that much fun. But I certainly have not been keeping close tabs on summer favorites such as Big Brother and So You Think You Can Dance. It doesn’t mean I’m not watching… so here’s what got me excited over the past few weeks: [Read more →]

Ed. Surprise, surprise. Can you sense the sarcasm? Last night’s Bachelorette finale confirmed a few things for me:
1) Jillian Harris is THE worst kisser on the face of the Earth.
2) We know what Jillian is going to look like in 50 years… her Grandmother.
3) I thought I had seen Ed’s balls the first time he wore the shnorty shnorts. I definitely saw them last night.
4) Ed has a tank top to match his shnorts.
5) The Bachelorette is the most predictable show ever made and a complete waste of my time. [Read more →]

Last night, I left NY and made my way to the event of all events, where anybody who’s anybody will be… San Diego Comic-Con, aka, Nerd Prom. Sweet. The best part of my journey so far? Being able to watch So You Think You Can Dance on my JetBlue flight. Not only did this entertain me for 2 hours on my 6+ hour flight, I got to enjoy it with mini bottles of water (I mean wine) and free baggies of cashews and 100 calorie Lorna Doone shortbread cookies (I mean Doritos Munchie mix and chocolate chip cookies). With no access to pause and FFW, I had to watch in full and it made me remember a few things:

Last night’s Big Brother was shocking, NOT because of the following reasons:
1) Russell is a psycho-path and Lydia’s a big fat baby — Russell basically screamed at Lydia for no reason at all last night. That’s because he’s on steroids. But that’s no excuse for Lydia to break down into tears every time someone looks at her the wrong way. Even though you have 100 tattoos, most of which are of characters from Paul Frank and Hello Kitty, you are not tough at all. Grow a set or go home, you’re annoying everyone in America.

My apologies for being a bit behind on this week’s The Bachelorette and Big Brother, but I spent 10 hours in the ER on Monday. I have to say, a day in the ER is not nearly as exciting as a day in the Seattle Grace ER. While my ER could’ve used a little Miranda Bailey ass-kickin’, I have to give a shout out to New York-Presbyterian. Though they diagnosed my stomach pains with absolutely nothing, they did try their hardest and were very pleasant and accommodating. Thanks, Docs! Speaking of Grey’s Anatomy, some fabulous news came in this morning for next season… Martha Plimpton has been cast in a multi-episode storyline! “Oh come on come on where are you? You are in the clouds and we are in a basement!” Goonies never say die, Martha, and we’re glad to have you.

Big Brother (CBS) heads back to high school for season 11 and I love it. Like every other reality TV show, it usually takes a while for the people to grow on me… but not this time. I am on board with this season already. Due to the disappointing seasons of So You Think You Can Dance and The Bachelorette, I’m pretty sure Big Bro is just what I need in my life. [Read more →]

On last night’s Bachelorette, Jillian made the decision to not spend the night with the guys she really has a connection with, which was very unslutty of her. Good for her. However, that line of mierda went to mierda once she invited Ed back to the suite for some horizontal flamenco. One-on-ones in Spain: [Read more →]

All aboard! The Bachelorette hit the tracks last night and made me want to punch a ticket for a ride. That was certainly the coolest set of dates put together “in Bachelorette history.” The breathtaking views, the first-class service, the private train cars… funny how the NYC subway looks nothing like that, especially when you’re the last one to squeeze on and the only view you have is of some woman from Queens’ hairy armpit (no offense Michael).
