Vincent McCaffrey is a father, husband, bookseller, and author — in that order of importance. His still patient wife could have done well or better without him, but he did play a key role in the lives of his children, and continues to impose on them whenever possible. Bookselling has occupied all of his adult life to one degree or another, depending on what other schemes he managed to involve himself with. And writing is the profession he has always aspired to and has now finally begun to make a go of. Two of his novels have been published by Small Beer Press: Hound (2009), a mystery, and a sequel, A Slepying Hound to Wake (2011). As to the other things he has done, he denies them, except when they might be useful as material for another story — and then they are fiction, of course.
