Sara Moreno

Sara W. Moreno is a quality assurance editor for a company that creates interactive e-learning, print-based, workshop, and blended solutions for the life sciences industry. Although this sounds rather dull, she assures you the job is interesting and includes testing online games and indulging in the office’s “magic food closet” (did she yet mention she is a sucker for free food?).

Past endeavors have included project management in the field of medical publishing; editing nursing, athletic training, and knee surgery journals; and acting as staff writer/associate editor for her hometown paper. Her proudest accomplishments in the field have come from her involvement in grassroots literary efforts: helping start up a lit mag in high school, creating a non-censored lit mag in college, and helping to run a beautiful (albeit it shortly lived–damn you, economy!) online women’s magazine (www.lucy-mag.com). She also freelance edits when the opportunity arises.

Moreno has some of the fiercest Jersey pride you’re likely to encounter, though she managed to leave the state long enough to get a BA in English/minor in creative writing from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. She also briefly hung her hat in Houston, Texas before the Garden State called her back, but that’s a story for another time…

Although the cops have left, Moreno continues to live in the City of Whitman — Camden, NJ — with her husband, and her adorable bunnies, Emma Bean, Joe, and Beatrice.

Moreno blogs at www.iamnotajedi.com.
