Nathan Cushing

Nathan Cushing was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in the affluent cultural necropolis of northern Virginia. After several years of staunch antipathy and incredulity towards higher education (and taking advantage of his parents’ financial generosity), he attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. After graduating summa cum laude with a BA in English, and minors in writing and religious studies, Cushing remained unemployed for several months, moving from Richmond back to northern Virginia (again taking advantage of his parents’ financial generosity).
Cushing is interested in American cultural studies, new media, technology, and all texts that are well-written. He’s had poetry and short fiction published in VCU’s undergraduate literary publication, Poictesme, and likes to think fondly of his petite cadre of blog readers. He hopes to return to academia later in 2009. In addition to his intellectual pursuits, Cushing has both arms, chest, and left leg covered in traditional American tattoos. HOPE and LOVE are tattooed across his knuckles. You can follow his blog, Intelligence Whim.
