Marty O'Connor

Marty O’Connor is a sweater- and blazer-wearing college admissions counselor by day, and an aspiring writer, caring father, music lover, and chicken wing eater the rest of the time. He grew up in Gloucester City, New Jersey, which sits across the river from Philadelphia. He attended Mount Saint Mary’s University in the bustling metropolis of Emmittsburg, MD, where he majored in business and marketing and graduated in 1998. Life since then was spent in a whirlwind of beer, parties, ex-girlfriends, concerts, hangovers, and a bunch of jobs at evil, soul-robbing corporations, until he found heaven in higher education and never looked back!

Writing has always been a passion — it’s the one thing he is mildly talented at. His other passions include basketball (he is 5’7) and music (voice sounds similar to Joe Pesci’s), so writing is the only thing that makes sense. He was inspired to get back on the writing horse after taking Scott Stein’s “Humor And Comedy Writing” class. He enjoys poking fun at pop culture, writing phony letters to his friends, and blogging.

Marty is also the proud father of a one-year-old son and enjoys fishing, concert going, the Jersey shore, and college basketball.
