Jeff Scheuer

Jeff Scheuer is a writer and critic based in New York. He is the author of two books about media and politics: The Big Picture: Why Democracies Need Journalistic Excellence (2007), and The Sound Bite Society: How Television Helps the Right and Hurts the Left (1999), named a Choice “Outstanding Academic Title.”
Jeff has also written for many daily newspapers, and for Dissent, Nieman Reports, Gettysburg Review, Potomac Review, New York History, and the Fletcher Forum of World Affairs. A native New Yorker, he has also contributed to the Encyclopedia of New York City, and to the original When Falls the Coliseum.
Jeff has taught in the Department of Media, Culture and Communication at New York University, and is a series editor on Democracy and the News for Praeger Publishers.
