Helen Cates was raised around the Lake of the Ozarks and now resides in the Austin, Texas area. She loves the great outdoors and likes to reminisce about the good-ole days back in hillbilly country. She joined the Navy upon graduation, and has had the opportunity to serve this great nation and also to mop a few floors. Helen daily juggles home-schooling her kids, volunteering at a living history museum, and working as a part-time relief manager for a crisis hotline and shelter for domestic violence. In her spare time she’s writing her book, blogging, sewing, traveling, and serving on the board for the Austin Screenwriter’s group.
