David Slocum is a motorcycle-riding, tattooed bruiser, a high school drop-out with no formal education, living in the buckle of the bible belt, Charlotte, North Carolina. He joined the military at age 17 and spent ten years doing his bit for ‘God and Country’ by jumping out of airplanes. After rejoining the civilian world, he bummed around for a few years, bouncing from job to job before finding his inner geek. A little luck, combined with a lot of hard work, landed him a career in the financial industry where he is now a corporate vice-president in information security at one of the world’s largest consumer banks.

No one is more surprised at this turn of events than he is.
