Teaching the ABCs like you really mean it

Learning is important. Without knowing her ABCs, Joshua Tabor’s 4-year-old daughter doesn’t have much of a chance to get ahead in life. Or learn how to spell. So why aren’t people commending Tabor’s efforts to stress the importance of education in his home? It could be because he and his girlfriend held his daughter’s head under water when she refused to say her ABCs.

Tabor told police that his daughter is afraid of water “and was squirming around trying to get away from the water. Joshua did not act as though he felt there was anything wrong with this form of punishment.”

Also, he beats her. And makes her sit in urine-soaked clothes when she has an accident.

The police investigation has revealed that Tabor has had “serious anger issues in the past” and “has taken anger management classes.”

[...]

Yelm police responded to a disturbance Sunday night after Tabor’s girlfriend reported that Tabor, a Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier, “was irate, intoxicated and walking around the neighborhood with his Kevlar helmet threatening to break windows.”

I don’t think the anger management classes worked.

How does this guy end up with custody of this girl? Just how messed up must the mother have been for the girl to be living with this father? The daughter is now in custody of child protective services.

Since Joshua Tabor has been charged with second-degree assault of a child, maybe he’ll go to jail for a while, and even get to take some more of those excellent anger management classes, so we can all rest easy knowing that when he gets out, he’ll have those serious anger issues under control.

  1. And as a soldier I would like to preempt anyone that would claim PTSD as an excuse for his behavior. Nonsense. PTSD is real but so is the help that you can get for it. Walking around your neighborhood in your Kevlar threatening your neighbors windows are not the actions of someone who just can’t handle anger. This jackass is not beyond the help he needs but he is beyond my sympathy. Abusing a child like that is worthy of some punishment…reform can come after that.

  2. I guess we can ask, did the military let this “mental deficient” into their ranks or did they make this normal guy in this “mental deficient”. Even Ronald Reagan said that water boarding was torture, but I guess Cheney and his gay daughter are the brain trust on this lie that has been perpetuated onto the American people and signed off by the GOP.
