Chicken McNugget emergency!
You might be amused by this story from the Smoking Gun (via Drudge) about a woman who called 911 because McDonald’s was out of chicken nuggets. She does seem to have a point, though, and it may be that a crime was in fact committed — sounds like the old McNugget-and-switch to me. Also check out this Smoking Gun post about a man who called 911 because he was unhappy with his Burger King combo meal. The 911 operator actually said, “I know you don’t seriously think that the police need to make Burger King give you food faster.” What, false advertising isn’t a crime? It is called fast food.

I am not sure if this is hilarious or pathetic… but maybe it’s just some combination of both.
Update in the paper today said the woman got a citation for using 911 in a “non-emergency”… And apparently it wasn’t that she was mad they ran out of nuggets (although I’d guess that a was a big part of it)… she was mad because they refused to refund her money; instead they tried to convince her to eat something else.
That’s why I called it a McNugget and switch.
it’s true — McDonalds will tear you up if you’re not careful… i had two Big Macs today in one sitting, and I feel like it was the worst mistake of my life
